Do you ever feel like you're drowning in a sea of digital documents? Keeping your vital files, reports and business communications safe, archived and easily accessible can seem like you're swimming against the tide.

Think of GFI MailArchiver as your life raft. It enables you to manage all your files easily and store them securely alongside your emails in an instantly accessible archive.

A key component of this technology is the GFI MailArchiver File Archiver Assistant. This video will demonstrate its file archiving capabilities.

You can find the File Archive Assistant in your System Tray menu. Double click it to open the main window. First you need to configure the folders on your PC that will be archived. Scroll down to the left bottom corner and click the Settings button. The list of folders that are synchronized with GFI MailArchiver appear in the Settings pane. You can add as many folders as you like.

To synchronize an additional folder, click the Add button. Then Select Destination and a folder on GFI MailArchiver where the files will be stored. Folders need to be created under the Files default folder. You can create a new folder by clicking on the New Folder button.

Click OK to save the folder. Now click Next and specify the folder on your local disk. Once located, click OK. At this time, click Next and review your settings. If the settings you selected are correct, click Finish to end your session with the wizard, and click OK to accept the update.

You are now able to save your files to the local disk, these files will also be automatically archived to GFI MailArchiver. The activity log shows what is happening in the background, as well as when files are archived and retrieved. Files also have the overlay icons to identify their status.

What happens if two or more users save the same file at the same? You can resolve the conflict by accessing the File Archive Assistant window. Click on the conflict and select the file you want to keep. For example, if you want to keep your copy, click Keep Mine. This will replace the file found on GFI MailArchiver with your copy.

To view files on GFI MailArchiver, open the GFI MailArchiver web interface and click on the folder you want to view. In this interface, you can also access the history view, where you can see all revisions of a particular file. You can also search for any file, just like any other item in GFI MailArchiver, using the powerful search capabilities. Any part of the file is searchable, simply enter any text in the search boxes.
