September 16, 2003 - 12:00

Penton Media’s Windows & .NET Magazine announced today that GFI FAXmaker for Exchange was selected a winner in the Best Fax Server category of the Windows & .NET Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards.  GFI FAXmaker was also voted Best Fax Server last year, when the Windows & .NET Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards were first introduced.

“We know that peer recommendations are important to our readership,” said Dave Bernard, custom media editorial director, Windows & .NET Magazine. “The second annual Windows & .NET Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards were developed as a way for readers to choose and recommend the best technology products in the industry. Receiving this award is an industry seal of approval.”

Readers were asked to vote on their product preferences in 16 broad technology categories. More than 7,700 readers chose the best among more than 950 products and services.

“Few people know more about the best values in Windows technology products and services than Windows & .NET Magazine readers—the people who actually do the buying on behalf of their organizations. By voting for the most outstanding products, IT professionals have rewarded excellence in the Windows technology market,” said Janet Robbins, editor-in-chief, Windows & .NET Magazine.

About GFI FAXmaker for Exchange
GFI FAXmaker for Exchange is a native fax connector for Exchange Server, which means that there is no need for a proprietary fax client: Faxes can be sent and received from within the Microsoft Outlook client. This eliminates the need for client software administration as well as end-user training. In areas with a GSM network, GFI FAXmaker also enables users to send and receive SMS messages.

GFI FAXmaker for Exchange requires zero administration: It eliminates the need for an internal fax user database and relies on Active Directory instead, allowing fax-related settings to be applied to Windows users or groups directly. GFI FAXmaker for Exchange features include a multi-line fax server, inbound fax routing, print to fax driver for Windows, support for server-based rendering of Office documents, fax management features, inbuilt spam filter, and more. GFI FAXmaker for Exchange is the most competitively priced fax server on the market: A 25-user version costs US$850; US$2050 for 100 users.
