GFI’s anti-spam product wins Gold Award for its innovation, performance, functionality and value

London, UK – GFI announced today that TechTarget's SearchWin2000.com, has selected GFI’s server-based anti-spam product, GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP, as winner of the Messaging category of its 2004 "Products of the Year” awards. Winners were selected for their innovation, performance, ease of integration into existing environments, ease of use and manageability, functionality and value.

"Spam-fighting capabilities, e-mail administration extras, pricing and service and support helped GFI's MailEssentials earn the Gold Award for messaging," said Christine Polewarczyk, editor at SearchWin2000.com. "Judges gave the most recent version of the product top marks for ease of use and integration because of its simplicity to install and configure for Exchange 2000 and 2003. And it installs on the Exchange SMTP services without any gateway configuration requirements, so it works for Exchange 5.5 and Lotus Notes as well." GFI MailEssentials also scored points for functionality, particularly in public folder enhancements in version 10.

Products were judged by the SearchWin2000.com editorial staff, in conjunction with a team of users, industry experts, analysts, and consultants. Judges selected the 15 Products of the Year from among scores of enterprise Windows-related products that were introduced/upgraded and shipped between October 2003 and October 2004. Three winners (Gold, Silver, Bronze) were selected in each of five categories: Network and System Management, Active Directory, Desktop Administration, Messaging and Security.
