Raleigh, N.C. – GFI Software sets the stage for the launch of its enhanced channel sales program in the Americas by adding a security-industry expert with more than 30-years of technology experience to its executive team. GFI Software, international leader and developer of network security, content security and messaging software, announced today the appointment of Jim Semersky as the director of channel sales.
“I am extremely pleased to have someone with Jim’s experience on GFI’s executive staff. He has a proven track record of success with the channel,” said Curtis H. Staker, CEO for GFI. “The creation of this new position is evidence of GFI’s commitment to work with the channel, offering a single source for affordable network, content and messaging solutions for our customers.”
Previously with Network General Corporation, a business unit of McAfee, Semersky was the director of North American channels. During his three years at McAfee, he was responsible for channel programs in the Magic Help Desk, Network Security and Network Application monitoring business units. During his tenure, he initiated channel programs in government, health and education markets and oversaw an incremental increase of $100 million in international channel sales for McAfee.
Prior to joining McAfee, Semersky was the vice president of sales and channel development for Home Director, a newly established business initiative of IBM that focused on advanced home networking and security solutions. He also spent three years as the global OEM account manager with 3COM.
Semersky’s initial priority with GFI will be to enhance the GFI channel sales program and introduce it to current and prospective channel partners later this summer.
