Wayside Technology Group, an integrated technology reseller, deploys GFI FAXmaker to streamline and expedite workflow

RALEIGH, N.C., 21 February, 2007 – Wayside Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTG) an integrated technology company that resells world-class software solutions to VARS and IT professionals, has deployed GFI FAXmaker for Exchange/SMTP company-wide to expedite order processing, invoicing and workflow. GFI Software is an international developer of network security, content security and messaging software.

GFI FAXmaker offers secure, confidential and instant delivery of faxes by email in Adobe PDF format. This allows Wayside Technology Group to automatically route orders electronically to selected departments and recipients, which expedites workflow and saves paper.

Wayside Technology Group had been receiving five hundred to over one thousand faxed paper purchase orders every day from customers and invoices from suppliers before deploying GFI FAXmaker in October, 2006.

Simon Nynens, Chairman and CEO of Wayside Technology Group, said, “Wayside Technology Group has been successfully selling GFI software solutions for the past three years, so we were well-aware of how versatile and easy to use they are. We chose GFI FAXmaker to help us enhance electronic document management company-wide. In the short time since it has been deployed, GFI FAXmaker has helped us achieve 90% electronic workflow, which enhances efficiency and saves thousands of dollars on paper. The product is perfect for today’s email-based workflow environment.” He adds, “Now our employees don’t have to leave their desks to go to the fax machine to search for and collect faxes all day long, which results in increased productivity.”

GFI FAXmaker is scalable for any size organization. It scales from four lines (standard) to 32 lines (for large organizations) with the Cantata/Brooktrout™ fax board. In small businesses, it runs in the background on the company mail server machine and in larger organizations, such as Wayside Technology Group, it runs on a separate machine.

Wayside Technology Group is planning on adding GFI FAXmaker’s OCR scanning module to reduce the two-step traffic process to one. The OCR module will scan incoming faxes to identify user/employee names. When a name is recognized, the fax will be routed to that person directly without first going through the company’s central email box for manager review and dissemination.

Another benefit of GFI FAXmaker is that it integrates with Microsoft Sequel (SQL) Server, enabling users to archive electronic faxes. In many industries, including healthcare and education, where companies are required by HIPAA and other laws to archive data for several years, this is valuable because it helps with legal compliance and expedites audits.

As an ecologically sensitive company, Wayside Technology Group donates a percentage of their annual savings on paper to an environmental charity. “We’ll easily save over USD 10,000 on paper a year, Simon Nynens says, so we’re pleased to be able to give back.”

“Wayside Technology Group resells best-of-breed software solutions from world-class software companies, so for Wayside to deploy a GFI solution company-wide and achieve notable success in such a short time is extremely rewarding,” says Curtis H. Staker, CEO of GFI Software.
