GFI® Software, a leading IT solutions provider for consumers and small and medium-sized businesses, today announced the appointment of Daniel J. Kossmann as chief financial officer. Kossmann will be responsible for GFI’s global financial strategy and operations, as well as the company’s information technology, legal and human resources functions. He has more than 30 years experience in financial management and extensive experience in the role of CFO for both publicly-traded and privately-held technology companies. Kossmann will report to GFI Software CEO Walter Scott.

Prior to GFI, Kossmann was CFO for master data management software developer Initiate Systems Inc. He joined Initiate in 2008 and led its financial operations through its acquisition by IBM last year. Kossmann also was CFO for e-learning software maker OutStart Inc., overseeing its financial management while the company dramatically expanded its customer base. Before OutStart, Kossmann was CFO and treasurer with ServiceSoft Technologies Corp. Prior to joining ServiceSoft, Kossmann was the CFO of NASDAQ-listed Infinium Software Inc. He also served as CFO at DataLogix Inc. and National Education Training Group (NETg). Kossmann started his career at Price Waterhouse. He earneda bachelor's degreein business administration in accounting from Niagara University.
