GFI Software partners with babyTEL™ to offer fax-over-IP option
GFI® Software today announced enhancements to its GFI FaxMaker® network fax server software, which will greatly reduce the telecommunications costs associated with traditional fax connectivity options. The enhancements will also give users of GFI FaxMaker the ability to send and receive faxes without any additional hardware.
This augments the existing benefits provided by GFI FaxMaker, particularly eliminating the need for paper - which reduces stationary costs, buoys an organization’s environmental credentials and improves regulatory compliance. It also provides security benefits in that faxes are directed to only their intended recipients, communication logs can be recorded, there are no paper documents that can fall into the wrong hands, and if email correspondence is being archived, all faxes are stored in a central, secure database.
GFI Software has partnered with babyTEL, a provider of internet-based services, to provide its customers with this low-cost option for sending faxes via Voice-over-IP (VoIP). VoIP communications are rapidly gaining popularity among small and medium-sized businesses (SMB). Survey data shows that nearly a third of them have already adopted the technology and an additional 50 percent plan to by next year. It has become a preferred alternative because of ease of use. With the babyTEL service as an added option, even GFI customers who don’t have a traditional telephone infrastructure can download a free trial with nothing more than an Internet connection.
