The Czech National Bank EmmanuelGravino has over 1500 email users. All email infrastructure must not only be stringently protected from any infections by malware, but email messages must also be store and kept accessible for a protected from any infections by malware, period of 10 years. Based on a decision of the CNB’s Bank Board to archive all email communication, an in-house archiving system was created. However, this system permitted access to archived email messages only in exceptional, precisely defined cases, and normal users had no access to their older emails. As a result, users continued to archive their email by exporting it into large PST files, which make searching for specific email messages or restoring deleted messages a very lengthy process.
