GFI DownloadSecurity update includes enhanced spyware and adware detection with the Kaspersky SuperSecure module

GFI's downloads content checking product, GFI DownloadSecurity for ISA Server, helps administrators in the battle against spyware by allowing them to review downloads and exercise control over what downloads enter their network. Spyware is software which is installed on computers without their owners' knowledge, often with the intent of spying on the user to gain statistical information. A newly released GFI DownloadSecurity update now provides customers who use the Kaspersky antivirus module with added protection against downloads containing spyware, adware, pornware and related malicious software.

GFI releases corporate email archiving product for Exchange Server

GFI today announced the release of GFI MailArchiver for Exchange, a new easy-to-use email archiving solution that enables organizations to archive all internal and external mail into a single SQL database. GFI MailEssentials 10.1 adds directory harvesting detection and SPF support to its anti-spam arsenal

GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 10.1 is one of the first server-based anti-spam solutions to support the anti-forgery Sender Policy Framework (SPF). SPF is rapidly gaining acceptance by leading organizations as a key method of blocking spam through sender authentication. The framework permits users to check automatically whether a particular email sender is forged. In its ongoing bid to help users win the battle against spam, GFI is offering the SPF module as freeware. Version 10.1 also detects directory harvesting, a method used by spammers to email as many recipients as possible within one domain.
