GFI adds Bayesian anti-spam filter to GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 9

GFI today launched GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 9, its server-based anti-spam tool that now boasts a Bayesian filter, which is able to adapt automatically to the latest spamming techniques and catch a record amount of spam. Current anti-spam techniques are largely static, meaning that it is fairly easy for spammers to evade them simply by tweaking their messages. The GFI MailEssentials Bayesian filter is adaptive: it changes over time and learns spamming techniques, making it much harder to dodge.

GFI releases DownloadSecurity for ISA Server 6 - Includes Trojan and executable analyzer

GFI today announced the release of GFI DownloadSecurity for ISA Server 6, a content security product that handles the security risk of file downloads without resorting to blocking them all at firewall level. GFI DownloadSecurity content checks downloaded files for malicious content and viruses, and enables administrators to assert control over what files users download from HTTP and FTP sites. Version 6 includes many key features, the most significant of which is a new Trojan and executable scanner.

GFI MailSecurity adds Kaspersky Antivirus engine to its arsenal

GFI, leading provider of Windows-based network and content security products, and Kaspersky Labs, an international data security software developer, have announced that the Kaspersky Labs antivirus technology will be offered as part of GFI's leading email security product, GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP.

GFI releases freeware antivirus version of GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP

In a bid to help administrators preempt a possible wave of new virus outbreaks, GFI today released a freeware version of GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP 8, its email content security solution.* The freeware version scans inbound and outbound mail using a single antivirus engine, and can be used as additional protection by companies who do not yet perform virus scanning at mail server level or at the gateway, and by those who run just one antivirus engine. The freeware version can also check message bodies and subjects for keywords; this feature can be used to detect inappropriate mail.

GFI LANguard N.S.S. 3.3 extends patch management to other language versions

GFI today announced the release of GFI LANguard Network Security Scanner (N.S.S.) 3.3, which offers patch management for German, French, Italian and other languages. A version for Spanish users will be available shortly. Prior to version 3.3, GFI LANguard N.S.S. could only deploy patches for English language Microsoft Office versions and service packs for English language operating systems.
